No personal notes on this wine since 1994, when it seemed already approaching its peak. But today from magnum it is not retreating a bit. Actually improved over two hours in decanter. Maturing but bright colour. Nose dominated by ripe summer fruits, with mineral complexity. Tannins all gone but palate still intense with plums and ripe summer fruit. Perfect harmony in the finish. A lovely wine still with time in hand.

a very well integrated wine. Tannins simply melt instantly in the mouth the moment I sip. Minus point: with more omph factor and intensity will make this bottle perfect. Overall this bottle is definitely a true classic wine that I am looking forward to sip more back vintage wine. But not all the wine can age graciously like this bottle.

Wow, what a great mature Pomerol wine! Dark nose, deep herb seasoning, coffee, fruity, sweet, full bodied, elegant and long. I preferred this even to the 1970 Cheval Blanc in the same flight. Will last a decade. (1 hr decanted)

Still very structured.
The wine looks ruby colored. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

blind tasting of 17 different kind of wines all over the world
Lush red fruits, dark cherries, a lot of extract and minerality, some licorice and graphite, reminds me more to an old Burgundy than Bordeaux, still a fine acidity and long finish
