Some Cellartracker comments :-

4/9/2016 - ANIMISMUS LIKES THIS WINE: 91 Points
The bottle was in good condition, level HS (high shoulder) with mould on cork. The colour was dark brick red. Medium to full body with elegant acidity and nice acids. The nose and taste was a satisfaction with pepper dried fruits and sun ripe Sicilian tomatoes. A miracle that this wine was still alive and will probably be for another five years.

11/6/2015 - ROSSI.WINE WROTE: 88 Points
Bottle in very good condition, fill level ts. Great colour - really dark core still with nice discolouration around the rim. Clear and glowing. On the nose a little tired and not very intense. Undergrowth, spice box, black tea, tobacco but not much fruit, increasingly vegetal. On the palate soft and smooth, no noticeable tannins, not much fruit, a bit flabby with green notes emerging. With more air slightly aggressive acidity, but still very much alive. A little short towards the finish. Lacking concentration and depth as many of the 1973s probably always did - now past its best, but still a very decent bottle. 87-89

8/15/2014 - JEREMY HOLMES WROTE:
Has a dank, waterlogged fruit kind of smell at first that dissipates somewhat in the glass. There are greener notes of capsicum and tobacco that weave through the aroma and flavour profile. The nose is not terribly engaging but the palate is quite pleasant with fresh red berry fruits that are lively and detailed. Tannins have all but disappeared and there’s some brisk acidity that punctuates the finish.

5/11/2014 - ETIGGES LIKES THIS WINE: 90 Points
Charming nose, a little thin on the palate. Enjoyable wine and respectable effort for its age.
