Wine Advocate #103
Feb 1996 Robert M. Parker, Jr. 92 Drink: 1996 - 2011
The 1975 Giscours is one of the outstanding successes for the vintage. Close to full maturity, it exhibits a powerful, well-balanced style. The colour remains a healthy dark garnet. The wine possesses rich, concentrated fruit, full body, admirable ripeness, and an overall sense of balance despite strong tannin in the finish. This thick, rich Giscours may be the finest wine made between 1970-1994. It will continue to drink well for another 15+ years. Should readers see this wine at auction, it will probably sell for a low price. It is a classic, top-flight 1975.
