Description

From La Rioja Alavesa, a blend of Tempranillo and Graciano, 2 x 1975 Vina Real Gran Reserva's. The 1975 vintage is described by CVNE as 4* - even better than 1976 (which gets 3*).

This wine is drinking perfectly and is the representation of Rioja's wine making past; a rapidly declining style in amongst the spoofulated wines of modern Rioja today.

From the two previous bottles consumed, it's still singing, showing a delicate weight of fruit surrounded by enchanting earthy characteristics. At it's very plateau now, give it time to breathe and enjoy slowly.

Take note of this auction and don't let the opportunity pass to pick up what is a rare old vintage of a stunning wine. Only availabity of this wine is currently in the US, retailing for approx $170 a bottle.
