Notes on this legendary wine abound on the internet, here are but two from Robert Parker.

Score: 95 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (183), June 2009
This 1982 is still displaying a beautiful deep ruby/purple hue as well as a stunning set of aromatics consisting of blue and black fruits, loamy earth, flowers, licorice, and spice box. The wine is medium to full-bodied with sweet tannins, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, and a silky finish. It appears to have hit full maturity, but it can easily be held in a cold cellar for another 10+ years.

Score: 96 Robert Parker, Bordeaux Book (4), December 2003
A spectacular performance for this wine, Cos d'Estournel's 1982 exhibits a dark ruby/purple colour with light pink at the rim. Sweet aromas of jammy black fruits intermixed with roasted espresso and vanillin jump from the glass of this young, concentrated, full-bodied, succulent effort. An opulent texture, low acidity, and splendidly pure, concentrated, blackberry and cassis fruit suggest this 1982 can be drunk now, or cellared for another 15-20 years. An awesome wine!
Score: 96 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (129), June 2000
