The lot consists of two bottles from the legendary 1982 Bordeaux vintage:-

One bottle of 1982 Chateau Giscours (Margaux).
One bottle of 1982 Domaine de Chevalier (Pessac Leognan).


"Looking back over what I have enjoyed in the past year,1982 clarets were the most consistently mature wines.The irony is that only a few years ago I was urging you to drink them up,but they seem to have taken on a new life,with more volume and power than had seemed apparent".

1982 clarets still seem to be showing the benefits of their great pedigree...these are recent tasting notes on CellarTracker of the above two wines:-

The 1982 Chateau Giscours.
"Nose.Bright red fruit with some leather and dried fruit notes.Evolved to something darker as the wine opened.Palate: silky and fully resolved with a nice weight.Cherry cordial,blackberry,leather,iron/metal note,and slight stone notes.Finish: slightly tart and perhaps a bit clipped.Shows a basil/rhubarb component.At peak or just declining".
