Description

The lot consists of three bottles from the legendary 1982 Bordeaux vintage:-

One bottle of 1982 Chateau Giscours (Margaux).
One bottle of 1982 Chateau La Tour St.Bonnet Cru Bourgeois (Medoc).
One bottle of 1982 Chateau Reverdi Cru Bourgeois (Listrac).

Robert Parker still considers 1982 a reference point for the greatness Bordeaux can achieve and David Peppercorn has recently endorsed his view (see articles below).Being 30 years old,there is now only a dwindling supply of this vintage's wine still available on the retail market.

In 2011 and 2012 on CellarTracker the last four point rated tasting notes of Chateau Giscours 1982 from different tasters have awarded this wine between 93 and 95 points.

Chateau Reverdi 1982 was awarded a Gold Medal in the Concours General Agricola Show in Paris in 1984.
My last tasting notes on the Reverdi 1982 were as follows:-

"Violets and lovely ripe black fruits on the nose.Mint,blackcurrants,truffles,prunes,minerality.Wonderful balance of still vibrant fruit and well merged tannins".Last tasted,20/6/2006).
