Description

A superb mature bottle of classic Left Bank Bordeaux, now over 40 years old.
Château Beaumont is a well-established Haut-Médoc estate, producing traditional Cabernet-led claret from vineyards situated between Margaux and Saint-Julien. This bottle comes from the highly regarded 1983 Bordeaux vintage, a particularly successful year for many wines of the Médoc.
Now fully mature, a well-preserved example may offer wonderfully traditional old-Bordeaux characteristics of dried blackcurrant and dark fruits, cedar, tobacco, leather, forest floor and cigar box, with softened tannins and considerable tertiary complexity.
The bottle displays an excellent fill level for its age, sitting around the base of neck/high shoulder. The original label remains very presentable, with age-related wear to the capsule consistent with a bottle dating from 1983.
A lovely opportunity to acquire an increasingly scarce mature Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc, ideal for drinking, collecting or as a 1983 anniversary/birthday bottle.
