Produced and bottled by the renowned Delas house in Tournon-sur-Rhône, this is their Chante-Perdrix Cornas from the 1984 vintage. Cornas is one of the Northern Rhône's historic appellations, producing powerful, characterful red wines exclusively from Syrah.
This is a particularly attractive old presentation, featuring the distinctive embossed Delas crest in the glass, original Delas capsule and wonderfully traditional period label.
At this age, a well-preserved Cornas can offer fascinating mature flavours and aromas of dried black fruits, blackberry, leather, black pepper, smoked meat, earth, herbs and savoury spice, with the youthful power of Syrah developing into something considerably more complex and delicate.
