Description

Situated near Ch Belgrave at St Laurent de Médoc this estate has one of the oldest and most attractive real "chateaux" in the area as opposed to parvenus building wedding cake edifices with their carpet-bagger's dosh in the 19th C. This is the real thing with moat, arrow slits, the whole caboodle. Anyway, they make decent wine too. In more recent times the property was bought by the ubiquitous and stormy Bernard Magrez to add to his collection, - Pape Clement 'n all. He's had more managers than the proverbial hot dinners (including your humble servant). One turned up each Monday wondering if the keys fitted the locks... One day they didn't.

Here we have a couplke of very similar bottles from the good 1985 vintage. Both have Base of Neck fills, good capsules and complete labels - see photos.

Despite extensive looking I can find no references to this wine at all. I probably tasted it in Bordeaux many years ago but...
