Description

Robert Parker's view of this wine has changed considerably (for the better),since his first tasting in November 1998:-

"This wine continues to get better and better, yet is still not close to full maturity, despite what I would have thought 16 years ago.The wine has a dense, dark ruby/purple color with just a bit of lightening at the edge".

Robert Parker. (The Wine Advocate. August 2012).

In his book "Bordeaux.A Comprehensive Guide.Fourth Edition",written in December 2003,Parker upgraded his rating on this wine to 90 Points.

"It displays a deep ruby color and aromas of roasted herbs, sweet vanillin, earth, and black cherries. In the mouth, the wine is big boned, but I am not sure it has the requisite sweetness and ripeness to stand up to the boatload of tannin as well as the wine's structure.Nevertheless, this is a youthful, promising, but slightly more attenuated La Lagune than I would have predicted".
(88 Points).

Robert Parker. (Bordeaux. A Comprehensive Guide.Third Edition.November 1998).

"Plenty of pretty wood dominates this Bordeaux, with sweet vanilla, cedar and smoky oak that overshadows the ripe fruit. With time,it should be more complex".
(89 Points).

The Wine Spectator. (June 1989).
