Description

According to the Wine Advocate's vintage chart,1986 was an above average to excellent vintage in Pomerol.
Chateau Trotanoy was purchased by the Moueix family in 1953 and its style is said to be similar to nearby Chateau Petrus,also part of the J.P.Moueix portfolio.The vineyard is planted with 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc grape varieties,with an annual production averaging 25,000 bottles.
Chateau Trotanoy 1986 should now be a mature,gently fading,but still delicious wine.
On CellarTracker,it has twelve tasting notes with an average rating of 89.5 points and a 100% approval rate.The last two tasting notes:-

"Drink up.
Won't be better!!!".

"Label says 12.2% alcohol.Medium garnet colour.Lovely autumnal nose but there is good fruit left.Silky texture with a slightly drying finish.This seems to be just past its prime and on a gentle slide downhill.Lovely wine".
