A particularly interesting and collectible bottle of 1990 Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage Port, representing the first Vintage Port produced at Quinta do Vesuvio under the Symington family following their acquisition of the historic estate in 1989.
This makes the 1990 an important landmark release in the modern history of Vesuvio and considerably more interesting than simply being another mature Vintage Port.
Quinta do Vesuvio is one of the great individual estates of Portugal’s Douro Valley, renowned for producing powerful, deeply concentrated and exceptionally long-lived Ports.
Now over 35 years from vintage, this bottle offers the opportunity to experience Vesuvio right at the beginning of its modern era.
The main 1990 label remains remarkably clear and attractive. The bottle shows substantial age-related deterioration and losses to the neck/secondary labels and wear and cracking to the original capsule, all clearly photographed. Sealed and unopened.
A fascinating mature Vintage Port with genuine historical significance — the inaugural Vesuvio Vintage of the Symington era and a superb bottle for the Port collector as well as the drinker.
