Description

‘Being a winemaker is about creating pleasure for other people.’ says Michel Mallard at Domaine Michel Mallard in Ladoix-Serrigny. Having said that, he stresses that he makes the wines he likes himself. He does not go for a particular style just because people happen to like it. You can't please everyone, so the best thing you can do is to be true to yourself.

The majority of the domaine’s wines are red. Apart from the regional whites they produce a minuscule amount of Corton-Charlemagne white wine, (one of the 4 great Cortons in Burgundy).

Domaine Michel Mallard don't release their wines very quickly, which means that a lot of wine, is stored. Winemaker, Michel Mallard, noted that it had been 4 years since they harvested their latest release white wine.
“We make wines that are not very approachable when young. But we think that burgundies have a potential to age, so we prefer to make wines that will develop. It's like a person that goes from being a child, becoming an adult.”

This is an opportunity to acquire a fully mature ‘adult’ of a wine, in MAGNUM format. Many of the latest trends in white wine are featuring the description, ‘aged’ in their promotional summaries. This is a wine that in so many ways has been ahead of its time, but most of all it is a wine that the winemaker intended to be drunk when it was ready.

A unique opportunity to experience aged burgundy, from one of the most sought after pinnacles within the region. I know of nowhere outside of France that you can acquire this wine!!
