"Clearly unready,when first tasted in July,but started to evolve later that autumn.Its appearance almost opaque.Shortly after,in October 1997,a touch of sweetness and flesh,with a whiff of sea breeze.Used as three "France in your Glass" masterclasses between 1997 and June 2000,gradually changing colour and opening up,with the inimitable Lynch-Bages fragrance and vivacity.Showing well at the MW tasting.More recently,the best wine...sweet,delicious...opened for the Chaine des Rotisseurs at the Lion D'Or in the Medoc. Lasted tasted,June 2000. ***(**). Now-2015".

A wine that continues to improve with age.Shows loads of ripe plum,almost prune,with hints of vanilla and mineral.Full,chewy and tight.Still needs time...Lynch-Bages non-blind vertical tasting.Best after 2008.

This is a beautiful wine with an evolved personality and low acidity.The wine exhibits abundant quantities of earthy,smoke and tobacco-tinged blackcurrant fruit,rich,concentrated,medium to full-bodied flavour and moderate tannin in a long finish.It is successful,but nowhere near full maturity. 2005-2020.
