Red | Drink now | Chateau La Lagune | Code: 598 | 1996 | France > Bordeaux > Haut-Medoc | Cab.Sauvignon Blend | Medium-Full Bodied, Dry | 13.0 % alcohol
Medium intense crimson to garnet in colour with a soft, ripe, mellow, oaky nose. Medium bodied on the palate and very well balanced with good fruit/oak integration as well as considerable finesse. Beginning to drink well now but will continue improving for another 5-7 years.

Tannic and austere wine, yet amply endowed, the dark ruby/purple-colored 1996 La Lagune exhibits spicy new oak, attractive berry, plumlike fruit, and toughness on the palate. It possesses sweet fruit, and expands on the palate. This wine could turn out to merit an even higher rating. Anticipated maturity : 2004-2020.
