Description

This 5th growth in Pauillac has Grand-Puy-Lacoste and Batailley as immediate neighbours to the east and the most famous Pauillacs, Lafite and Mouton a couple of kilometres to the north. In 1996, they made approximately 20,000 cases of wine, 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. It was all hand harvested fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and enjoyed over one year in oak casks, more than half of which were new.
In their opinion, 1996 was a magnificent vintage with the classic Pauillac notes of cassis and cigar box aromas. It was expected to mature well which appeal to the English palate.
