Three bottles fresh out of an unopened wooden case for the photos.
All bottles are perfect with levels well into the necks.

Robert Parker (88-89) Drink: 2003 - 2018
A super-effort from this perennial overachiever, Poujeaux's 1996 displays a deep saturated purple colour, and sweet, ripe, but tight black-cherry and currant aromas, and dense, medium to full-bodied, moderately tannic, backward flavours. This wine possesses the potential to become outstanding, but it is extremely unevolved, and in need of 5-7 years of bottle age. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2018.

Beautiful! Smells of buttermilk, cedar, and light smoke opens up to a beautifully delicate red fruit on the palate.
Medium finish but a quintessential Bordeaux that will keep for another few decades. Classic.

This bottle from TWS. Youthful appearance with a deep ruby core and a medium pale garnet rim. Lovely cool, minerally dark fruited nose, blackcurrant, gravel a touch of smoke and beef. Medium bodied, with striking clarity and purity of fruit, blackcurrant, attractive gravelly character, very fine tannins, touch of beef, fresh acidity, lovely lingering gravelly finish. Classy, classic claret, drinking now but absolutely no hurry. Superb.
