Description

Two bottles of each château in each of three lots.

Château Bouscaut - Grand Cru Chassé Pessac-Léognan
and
Château La Rose Figeac - Pomerol

True 1997's were lighter and more precocious than either of the vintages they separated, but also true they were much too expensive 'en primeur' and the campagne bombed with a vengance meaning that stocks were held in the trade for a long while until their true commercial price level was finally found.

Here are a pair of easy-drinking good quality clarets. Bouscaut is the better known and always produces typical Graves (Pessac Léognan). The small 4 hectare (predominantly Merlot) La Rose Figeac is on the very edge of the Pomerol appellation, close to the other Figeacs over the frontier in Saint Emilion.

Both are naturally barrel aged.

Both are from previously unopened wooden cases and are "as new" in every respect.
