Chateau Rayas is now such a highly prized wine that according to WineSearcher,currently only two retailers in the UK are presently selling the 1998 Rayas Chateauneuf du Pape at a price of least £350 (inc.Vat and Duty) a bottle:-

"This wine continues to evolve and always benefits from a lot of air time in the glass (or decanter),which allows its lilting,perfumy aromas and light color to become more concentrated and darker.Cherry,rose petal,pine forest,spice and mineral notes hang on the supple frame with deceptive grip on the finish"

"There is no doubting the extraordinary depth and and layers of flavor the 1998 Rayas Chateauneuf du Pape contains.The color is medium to deep ruby,and the bouquet offers aromas of ripe strawberry and cherry candy,with kirsch liqueur thrown in for additional interest.On the palate,the wine is full-bodied and fat,with high levels of sweet fruit,a velvety texture,multiple dimensions,and an explosive finish...My best guess is that this voluptuous,sexy Rayas should drink well young,yet age easily for 15-16 years".
