Description

There is a limited production of just 235 cases of this wine.The Roennfeldt Roads are the flagship wines of the Greenock Creek winery and because Robert Parker,year in,year out in the mid to late 1990's rewarded the wine with the maximum 100 points,it has now achieved cult status.At the time,the legendary Chris Ringland was the winemaker.He has since moved on to his own ventures.

Robert Parker's comments are as follows:-
This wine is 100% Shiraz,made from a 60-year-old vineyard that spent three years in neutral French oak and is made from yields of .75-1 ton of fruit per acre.It possesses the concentration of the greatest classics ever produced in such Bordeaux vintages as 1945,1947,1959,1961 and 1982.It is an aromatic expression of blackberry,melted road tar and truffles.It is a massive full-bodied red with a finish that lasts over 60 seconds.For its size and concentration,it is surprisingly not heavy,just super-endowed.The Roennfeldt Road Shiraz is a bit more accessible than the Cabernet Sauvignon,but still primary.Unfortunately,quantities are extremely limited for these spectacular world-class Australian reds.I can not think of any other winery that produces so many extraordinary wines at such a high level of quality.Yes,they are full-flavored,intense reds that represent the antithesis of European offerings,but even someone like me(an admitted Francophile)can't help but see the beauty,extraordinary individuality,and compelling distinctiveness of these great efforts from Greenock Creek.
