Description

This lot is for two delightful bottles of Brunello di Montalcino 2004 from Il Poggione. Both bottles are in superb condition having only just been withdrawn from bond. Labels and capsules are immaculate with both levels well into the neck. We opened a bottle two weeks ago and it was superb. 2004 was a stunning vintage in Tuscany.

($75) Good deep red. Sexy nose offers raspberry, spices, coconut, dried flowers, tobacco and potpourri: almost Lafite-like. Then suave, complex and energetic in the mouth, offering lovely vinosity to the sappy red fruit and floral flavors. Finishes long and vibrant, combining enticing sweetness and firm, saline grip. Really spreads out horizontally on the back. (Terlato Wines International, Lake Bluff, IL) 93 points
