This opaque ruby/purple-colored La Louviere 2000 exhibits plenty of earthy,black currant,vanilla,graphite,licorice,and smoky cherry aromas as well as flavors.Medium-bodied with sweet tannin,good acidity,and a long,concentrated finish,this is the finest La Louviere since the 1990.

While unclassified,La Louviere is superior to many of the cru classes.In particular,recent vintages have been on a quality level equivalent to a Medoc fourth growth.
The 2000 is the finest La Louviere since the 1990 and 1988.A complex,smoky tobacco,earth,black currant,and cherry jam-scented nose is followed by a medium to full-bodied,supple-textured,voluptuous,fat,fleshy,low-acid wine.It will no doubt firm up and age nicely.Anticipated maturity: 2003-2016.
