Description

2000 Château Cantemerle
Possibly one of the best clarets I've ever had, this surprised even me. Drunk with dinner (not decanted) at the Three Gables in Bradford on Avon, I found this perfectly balanced, with the ageing notes of forest floor and wet leaves present but not overpowering the extremely ripe cassis flavours. I was seriously impressed with this.


2005 Château de Camensac

This is modern new era of Camensac. I love it because of its structure, better than the old style, more details, more layers. Maybe too many persons on the table so I could not concentrate to the wine like a last time but I still want to rate it 95-97/100.

Seductive nose and seductive tannin, full-bodied but not aggressive, elegance finished.

Better than 2003 last week that seems to be weak or going to the sleep period,

Recommended to open 4 hours or decanted in the normal decanter for 1.30 hours before drinking.

I love drinking old wine but Camensac 2005 ...break every rule...indeed.
