Description

A vast estate of 150 hectares of which 119 in a single block are under vines is situated at Cussac-Fort-Médoc twixt Margaux to the south and Saint Julien to the north.

Planted with 53% cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot, 4% petit verdot and 3% cabernet franc and aged in oak barrels. 12.5% abv.

The estate underwent a radical renovation both of the renaissance style chateau (1854) and the vineyards from 1980 to 1986. It was sold to a French insurance giant G.M.F in partnership with the Japanese Suntory who also own Lagrange at St Julien which the bought in 1982.

The very latest equipment and the smartest men that money can buy make the wines here. This vintage won a Gold Medal at Macon in 2003 - shown in the photo.

All bottles are in in perfect condition and after 11 years in bottle will be showing their best now and for a few years to come.
