Description

Nice dark ruby with no signs of bricking. On the nose upon opening, dark fruit (black cherries, and blueberries), coffee, a touch of chocolate, bread, smoke, grapes and a touch of leather and tea. On the palate, the attack is frank with nice fruit lifted by a nice seam of acidity carrying the fruit into a very nice long finish with round and fine tannin that are still quite present. The finish also has the metal/grape touch to it indicating that it is Cos. Silky texture. This bottle is clearly more open than the one from a year ago. 92-93 at this point. It seems to be at the start of its maturity phase with still quite a structure, but the fruit is there, though it undoubtedly has another 8 years to go at least and I will wait till mid 2017 for the next one. Mostly primary aromas, though after 3 hours of air, some secondary aromas are more evident.
