Description

Three lots of two bottles.

Robert Parker 87 Drink: 2004 - 2011
Reminiscent of a premier cru from Beaune, the 2001 La Lagune reveals aromas of sweet and sour cherries, cedar, and balsam wood with toasty oak in the background. Medium-bodied, elegant, and refreshing, it should be enjoyed over the next 5-7 years. This is the first vintage for one of Bordeaux’s bright young oenologists, Caroline Frey

Wine Journal Neal Martin 88-89 April 2003: a high-toned blackcurrant, tarry, liquorice nose - quite lifted. The palate is firm but elegant with well-integrated oak and good concentration. Quite feminine and delicate for Lagune, though lacks some depth on the finish. Then in November 2003: a lighter nose this time, liquorice with more cranberry fruits in evidence. Palate has good concentration with sweet cherry and rather low acidity. Harmonious, still difficult to tell how this will develop but very good.

All bottles straight from a wooden case of 12 and having been professionally cellared until very recently.
