Chez W, decanted 30 minutes, perfect cork and level - Dark garnet, youthful robe, murky; nose of plums and cassis, some earth, dusty; fullish, concentrated, decent length and persistence, sweetish fruit, not at all hot, lacks a bit of class and not particularly pure, early days yet.....and as yet not up to the polished 01. tentative VG+ (16.5).

Picked up 2 more bottles since 2003 was the year Mrs. Knurd and I met, definitely supporting the local economy at $60 / bottle (ouch). Decanted through a screen to catch sediment and was greeted to bold aromas of blue and black fruits. Palate has plenty of rich black currant and time has softened the tannins to a palatable, slightly bitter dark chocolate note, while still having enough structure to overcome the lower acidity. The value at $60 certainly isn't there but it drank well considering its 13 years old. Going to bump it up to a B+ since it isn't showing any signs of decline.
