Description

2003 was one of the hottest Bordeaux vintages (similar to the UK) on record.There were some outstanding wines produced and Robert Parker compares the quality of the wines to other legendary hot vintages in Bordeaux...1990,1982 and 1959.


The 2003 Chateau Ramage La Batisse is a good,solid bottle of cru bourgeois claret from an excellent vintage in the Medoc.The vineyard is close to the famous Pauillac First-Growth vineyards and the grape varieties are 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot.It should now be drinking at its peak and has recently had some excellent wine tasting notes (90+ Points) on CellarTracker:-

"Smooth,delicious,deep dark red color,no after taste whatsoever.This wine would be perfect with a nice steak or hearty meat dish".

"This is really classic Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois for the price.Would be curious to place this in a blind tasting of higher-priced/classed wines from the region.A perfect time to open as everything is smooth,mellow,and integrated.Nice plum,cassis and cedar flavors that are great with food and (unlike many Bordeauxs) is actually drinkable on its own.Very nice wine.Wish I had more".
