Description

TWO lots of THREE bottles fresh from a previously unopened wooden case. Recently removed from storage at the Wine Society and in tip-top condition.

A vastly improved property which was down in the dumlps up until the mid '80s. Since then the Chatellier family have made dramatic improvements both in the vineyards and in the cellars.

The blend this vintage is composed of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 48% Merlot.

I was quite shocked at my disparaging verbiage out of barrel from a Margaux estate that consistently over-performs! Oh well. Here, it has fine definition on the nose with cedar, raspberry, wild strawberry, wet sand a touch of cigar box. The palate displays good concentration with firm tannins, good structure, a little astringency towards the finish with raspberry leaf and a touch of pepper. Whilst I prefer other vintages of Dauzac to this, it is still commendable and has charm. Drink now-2015. Tasted November 2008.
