Description

Robert Parker awarded this wine 93 points in his Wine Advocate (176), April 2008. "The deep ruby/purple-hued 2005 Feytit Clinet is performing brilliantly, offering up notes of chocolate-covered blackberries, licorice, incense, and notions of earth as well as oak. A 1600 case blend of 95% merlot and 5% cabernet franc, from a 15 acre vineyard situated near Trotenoy, the 2005 is full-bodied and powerful with sweet but substantial tannin, good acidity, and a long finish. It will benefit from 5-6 years of bottle age, and should improve over the following two decades. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2030."

James Suckling 91 points, winespectator.com, February 2008. "Lots of licorice, floral and blackberry aromas. Full-bodied, with soft, velvety tannins and a medium finish. Very well done. Perhaps best ever."

Jancis Robinson 17.5 points April 2006 "Very bright and dark. Sweet, heady flowers - lilies? - on the nose. Quite exotic and distinctive. Extremely jagged and youthful for the moment. Should get there but will need a LOT of time. Not for classicists. Drink 2015-25.

Stephen Tanzer 92 points, International Wine Cellar, May 2008.
