The 2005 La Roquete Chateauneuf du Pape (made by the Brunier Brothers of Vieux Telegraphe fame) was awarded 93 Points by Wine Spectator and in its "Top 100 Wines" in 2008,it achieved 43rd place.2005 was a very fine vintage in Chateauneuf du Pape.

"High-toned at first,with cherry and floral aromas.Yet quickly shows more density,with layers of blackcurrant and graphite and taut,sinewy tannins that drive to the finish.Drink now through 2017".

"The 2005 Domaine La Roquete Chateauneuf du Pape has a deep ruby/purple color and a beautiful sweet nose of ripe Grenache (think kirsch liqueur),along with raspberries,licorice,pepper,and some Provencal spiciness.Abot 30% stems were used in the making of this wine,and it is both powerful and elegant,with zesty acidity and moderately high tannin.It is an attractive wine that can be drunk early on or cellared for 12-15 years".
