Santa Duc combines the muscle,richness,and fire of a classic Gigondas with a degree of elegance and purity that many wines of this appellation lack".

"The top flagship cuvee of the estate,the 2005 Gigondas Prestige des Hautes Garrigues,hadn't even started malolactic fermentation.This wine possesses extraordinary intensity,colossal richness,an inky blue/purple color,surprisingly lofty alcohol,but also high acidity which is a rather unusual characteristic.The wine is a backward bruiser/blockbuster with huge notes of crème de cassis,licorice,underbrush,and black truffle.I wouldn't touch this wine for another 5-6 years.It should age for close to two decades".
