Description

Three bottles offered individually. From their original wooden case and consequently in perfect condition.

93/100 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (181), February 2009
The 2006 is relatively forward and seductive, as one expects La Conseillante to be, with a dark ruby/purple-tinged colour and a beautifully sweet nose of black raspberries, plums, kirsch, cedar, and licorice. A broad, savoury, seductive, full-bodied mouthfeel with superb ripeness, silky tannins, and terrific complexity make this an ethereal style of Pomerol. A must taste. Drink it over the next 15+ years.

La Conseillante has been doing everything very well since the turn of this century, and this is another example of just how strong these wines are. For older readers, the great vintages of the past (1982, 1985, 1989, and 1990) are a quintessentially seductive style of Pomerol that seems to represent a hybrid blend of a grand cru red Burgundy and a top terroir from Bordeaux. Drink 2009-2024.

92-94/100 James Suckling, WineSpectator.com, March 2007
Attractive berry and mineral character. Full-bodied, with a pretty complement of dark chocolate and berry character. Solid core of fruit and ripe tannins, yet balanced. Very ripe fruit here. Serious for the vintage.

17.5/20 Farr Vintners, March 2007
Fabulously situated alongside Cheval Blanc and L'Evangile, this property consistently produces soft and creamy traditional Pomerol that never tries to be heavy or extracted. The winemaking here has seriously improved in recent years, and 2006 is a perfect example of the heights that la Conseillante has scaled. This offers a sexy, seductive nose, full of charm, yet remains fresh, fragrant and understated. Pure blackcurrent and perfumed tobacco in character. The palate is beautifully refined, with great balance between the fine tannins and lifting freshness. A hint of surmaturité to the dark, spicy fruit, but with no suggestion of being overdone. Very classy indeed. One of The Wines of the Vintage.

The Wine Cellar Insider Tasted Jul 22, 2013. 93/100 points.
Smoky, tannic, black raspberries and cherries are in abundance. The wine is tannic, structured and powerful, with a masculine side to its character. Give this time in the hopes that it softens with age. Knowing the wines well, it should soften with additional age.
