Description

Fine Wines, who are selling it also, state: "Fennel and rosemary are prevelent in the nose along with other dry herbs. This is a firm and fresh wine where the minerality is present and balanced with fresh acidity."

My own note: "Now just about fully mature, this wine is a beautiful, bright, light-fawn colour with a nose of rich guava, a touch of boiled sweets, almond nuts, fennel and some thyme. In the mouth an invigorating freshness blossoms with its stone minerality, a smooth and soft taste of pastilles and lemon-cream, and a long finish. Perfect with your smoked salmon or trout and not likely to smother it with too much richness.

Cellartracker gives 91.1 points over 17 tasting notes for this exact wine with Peterchoy stating on 29th June this year -
"Appearance: Bright and clear, it has medium lemon color, with legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas dairy notes of cream and butter, green fruit of pear, citrus notes of lemon, kernel notes of walnut, maturity notes of hay, mineral notes of stony. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium (+) acidity, the wine has medium alcohol, medium body, and has medium intensity flavors of green fruit of pear and ripe apple, maturity notes of mushroom, citrus notes of lemon, kernel notes of walnut, dairy notes of bread. The wine has a medium finish.
Conclusion: Good quality Chassagne-Montrachet with a good intense nose, having also good complexity, the wine has a robust structure, with the acidity supporting well the body with the flavors clearly highlighting the elegance of the wine, with good bread and walnut notes of decent concentrated. The wine has a fair length on the finish, ready to drink and can benefit from further ageing of another 3-5 years."
