Description

In November 2012,Decanter magazine had a tasting of 2009 Medoc Cru Classe and Chateau Pedesclaux 2009 got incredibly good tasting reviews from all three judges.They all awarded this wine with the same points rating and Pedesclaux was one of six wines (out of 57 clarets) adjudged "Outstanding".This was in the same category as Chateaux Mouton-Rothschild,Margaux and Grand-Puy-Lacoste.
Stephen Spurrier's tasting notes are as follows:-

"Lovely fragrance of cassis fruit plus a hint of violets.Very good natural ripeness on the palate - already quite smooth,with richness and natural tannins to add depth and complexity.A beautiful femine Pauillac".

"Huge improvement here.This is full-bodied,with super-polished tannins and light smoky,chocolaty and plum character.Long and polished.Very fine indeed.Drink after 2016".
