A seductive, opulent, textured Margaux with notes of licorice, black fruits, asphalt, pen ink and truffle, this is one of the finest du Tertres ever made. It has a hedonistic quality to it, but at the same time, there is great class, precision and freshness to this full-bodied, concentrated, but very supple-textured wine. Drink it over the next 20+ years.
45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc

Wine Spectator 91 Points
Quite perfumy at first, with lilac, damson plum and singed bay leaf notes up front, followed by darker yet still caressing steeped black cherry, worn leather and espresso notes on the back end. Best from 2013 through 2023. 12,500 cases made.–JM

Lightly treacly nose. Interesting. Very different sort of nose. The fruit is kept in check - not too aggressively sweet. Tamped down to provide much more of a classic Margaux style but with lots of pleasure. Very cool indeed. Date tasted 31st March 2010. Drink 2016-2028.
