A beautifully mature Valpolicella Classico from the celebrated hills of Fumane in Italy's Veneto region. Produced by Corte Alta from the estate's Vigna San Zeno vineyard, this 2013 vintage has enjoyed over a decade of bottle ageing, allowing its fresh fruit character to evolve into a more complex and refined expression.
Expect aromas of ripe cherry, red berries and violets, complemented by hints of dried herbs, spice and soft earthy notes. On the palate it is elegant and balanced, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, savoury finish.
Presented in very good overall condition with its original capsule and tax strip intact, this is an excellent choice for lovers of traditional Italian wines or anyone seeking a mature bottle to pair with pasta, risotto, roast meats or aged cheeses.
