Description

I am auctioning 3 bottles of Chateau Pavie Macquin 2004. They have just been withdrawn from bond and were delivered to me on 29 Jan 15. The bottles are in immaculate condition as you would expect.

For a review:

(75% merlot and 25% cabernet franc) Bright, saturated ruby-red. Black raspberry, sassafras, licorice, graphite and sweet oak aromas, all lifted by minerality. Very fresh and intense, in a distinctly elegant style but with no lack of stuffing. There's nothing vegetal about this vintage, thanks to the late harvesting, which Nicolas Thienpont said the team did very quickly. (The cabernet sauvignon was actually brought in on November 2 but was not included in the blend.) I like this style. The wine was still in barriques in April and had not been racked for a full year. -- Stephen Tanzer

The wine can be shipped to you or collected from Central London during the working week. It can also be collected from Wiltshire if you wish.
