"A brawny wine, it leads with ripe berry, underbrush, toast and leather aromas. The juicy palate offers sweet wild cherry and black raspberry accented with notes of mint, thyme, black pepper and hint of coffee alongside bracing tannins. Drink 2015–2021." (Kerin O'Keefe, 5/1/2014) 

“The nose was beautiful, as it opened up in the glass to reveal tart red berry, dry autumnal spice and hints of animal musk. On the palate, bitter cherry with cinnamon and cedar saturated the senses yet remained juicy and fresh. The finish was staying with young red fruits that made the mouth water, followed by hints of cheek-puckering tannins." (Eric Guido, January 2014) 

The 2009 Brunello di Montalcino is a big wine loaded with personality and intensity. Sweet cherry, baking spice and licorice burst from the glass in this explosive expression. There’s even a tangy touch of peppercorn or black olive at the back. Rich layers and polished tannins fill in the wine’s broad shoulders and give the wine an extra push of power and persistency.
