Antinori LA BRACCESCA 2007, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano D.O.C.G

To the eye the wine opens with an intense ruby red color, while its aroma expresses spicy notes and hints of ripe fruit. On the palate the wine is rich and persistent, with good mineral notes typical of the region. It has soft and well-balanced tannins, synonymous with grapes which have been picked at the optimal stage of ripeness.

2007 was one of the best vintages in recent years. The very mild winter caused foliage development to take place about two weeks early, affecting the vine's overall physiological cycle and resulting in a harvest ten days' earlier than average. The summer was dry but not excessively hot, enabling the grapes to ripen perfectly with a slight decrease in quantity, compensated by high quality evident in all the varieties grown on the La Braccesca estate: the wines show highly concentrated colour and particularly rich aromas and structure.

The La Braccesca estate is divided into two separate part, which together extend over an area of 379 hectares. The historic centre of the estate is in the Montepulciano area, with 86 hectares planted to vineyards in the best sub-zones for the production of Nobile di Montepulciano. The other 151 hectares are located in the foothills surrounding Cortona. The first vintage of Vino Nobile La Braccesca was 1990.
