These wines represent a selection from some high quality but little known Australia producers, most from cooler regions such as the Hunter Valley, Adelaide Hills and Orange. The stock comes from the cellar of a now-defunct merchant and is in excellent condition.

CUTTAWAY HILL 2007

Vibrant green gooseberry and lemon leaf aromas. Fresh citrus characters balanced by a long, crisp finish combine to produce a typical cool-climate wine with elegance and style.

DEEP WOODS IVORY 2008

A fresh and crisp white wine with nice tropical fruits, and slight herbaciousness. Medium bodied, but with good acidity from the Sauvignon and great length. A great summer favourite from winemaker Travis Clydesdale, given extra intensity by the supreme vintage. Rich with grassy Sauvignon character, it leaps from the glass with refreshing melon, citrus and herbs.

FIRST CREEK 2007

Semillon sourced from Hunter Valley; Sauvignon Banc from Tumbarumba. Lemon fresh with a hint of passion fruit, it’s light and crisp, although a bit watery. Lightweight.

SORBY ADAMS COLLAGE 2008

This pale lime green gem is filled with the aromas of the tropics. The palate is overflowing with lively tropical fruits, passionfruit and citrus and a long fresh and crisp finish. Best consumed in its youth. Ralph Kyte-Powell review: “This zippy young white opens with citrus-like Semillon aromas that fold into more fruit salady Sauvignon notes. It’s fresh and appetising, with a tangy palate that excellently balances fruit flavours and brisk acidity.”Winemaker’s notes: “Pemberton’s climate is slightly warmer than Manjimup and sits at a lower altitude. The blending of fruit from the two regions brings wines with luscious ripeness from the warmer Pemberton and the higher acid and more delicate characters of Manjimup.” Simon Adams
