Description

Made with biodynamic certified grapes, barrel fermented, and aged 16 months in extra tight grain French Oak. This sublime Chardonnay offers expressive citrus, apple, ripe fruit, and creamy texture with enough freshness to carry through a long lingering finish.

Vintage review here is 2016 - mine is 2015

Another early, warm growing season in the valley, although not as hot as prior years. Ideal ripening conditions throughout the season resulted in ripe, clean, balanced fruit. Lower yields and smaller berries resulted in vibrant flavors, intense aromas, and mature tannins. An exceptional vintage.

Vineyard

Keeler Estate Vineyard is a Demeter-certified biodynamic site located in the heart of the Eola-Amity Hills AVA on a southwest-facing hillside. Shallow and diverse sedimentary soils of an ancient ocean bed, moderate elevations, and the cooling influence of the Van Duzer Corridor result in vibrant, intense fruit with distinct character and layers of complexity.

Fermentation

Barrel fermented in French Oak. Some barrels are filled directly from the press pan without settling. Light batonage and no racking until blending.

Elevage

16-month elevage in extra tight grain 228L French oak barrels: Fontainebleau, Troncais and Vosges forests.
