A wow wine! My guests are still talking about this this morning. Thick as molasses, mouth-coating, coffee, fig marmalade. Great balance of sweetness and acidity with an endless length.

So good I almost couldn't bear to drink it.

A week in Tuscany (and Lots of wines); 10/19/2015-10/21/2015 (Tuscany, Italy): Wow. Off the list at Cum Quibus in San Gimignano. 29 Euros per glass. Deep ruby/dark brown in color. The nose is incredible. Figs, coffee grounds, leather, spice, dried cherries and dark chocolate. One of those wines I could sniff all night. On the palate, this is like motor oil. Thicker than maple syrup. Delicious. Unctuous. Complex. Sweet but balanced and not cloying. Flavors of espresso, figs, dark chocolate. So smooth. My wife and I used our fingers to wipe clean the glass for the last taste. This is so rich I would not want a second glass. But one was amazing. The finish lasted for hours. A real treat!
