The lot consists of three bottles of Bandol wine (Pibarnon and Tempier are considered among the best domaines in this appellation):-

1 bottle of 2000 La Bastide Blanc Cuvee Fontanieu Bandol.
1 bottle of 2002 Chateau de Pibarnon Bandol.
1 bottle of 2003 Domaine Tempier La Tourtine Bandol.

Red Bandol is characterized by its dark colour,with rich flavours of black fruit,vanilla,cinnamon and leather that usually require 10 years of ageing before they develop.Bandol is the only French wine region that is dominated by the Mourvedre grape,which performs differently,depending on the particular terroir of the region.


The Wine Advocate tasting notes on the 2003 Tempier La Tourtine Bandol are as follows:-

"This is a beautiful Tempier from Bandol with another bewitching nose of blackberry,boysenberry,leather,and a touch of tar.The palate is full-bodied,well defined with exquisite balance and purity.Like the 2005,there is minerality here that lends the wine character.Touch of bitter cherry lingers on the aftertaste.Very long with persistency.Cellaring essential for this stupendous wine.Drinking 2015-2030".
