Description

A classic Tuscan red from Marchesi de Frescobaldi.
From the 1998 vintage, in which Brunello is rated a 88R by Robert Parker - an excellent vintage ready to drink now.

Purchased in the UK (Oddbins) around 2000, stored in a cellar originally, then in a eurocave for the last 5 years. The bottle is in good condition with no visible signs of ullage and some scarpes on the label from movement in the rack over the years.

winemaker's notes:
The color is an intense ruby red with subtle burgundy undertones.

AROMAS The bouquet unfolds perfectly, offering fragrances of ripe fruit such as plums and cherries, enhanced by spicier notes of cinnamon and cloves which lead into more complex aromas of tobacco and leather.

TASTE On the palate, the impact is at first very delicate and elegant, intensifying as it opens. The well polished tannins are in perfect balance with the alcohol component. The finish is persistent and incredibly pleasing
