Plundered from the internet:

CASTELGIOCONDO is one of the most important companies, the oldest and most deeply rooted in the territory of Montalcino. The Estate of Castelgiocondo, south-west of Montalcino, is located in an ideal terroir for the Sangiovese and the great wines produced here: the vineyards are staying at heights between 300 and 400 meters, well-drained soils have the sunny and favorable exposure to the south-west. Meticulous care in the vineyard, high density and low yields, allow you to produce a great Brunello di Montalcino, the fabric elegant and admirable longevity.

THE STORY TO TELL
The village of Castelgiocondo dominates the historic estate of Frescobaldi in Montalcino, an ancient fortress built in 1100 to guard the road from the sea to Siena. The property is one of the top four which began in 1800, the production of Brunello di Montalcino and the historic importance is demonstrated by the figure of the knight on the labels of wines Castelgiocondo, taken from a famous fresco by the Sienese painter Simone Martini. The artist painted Guidoriccio da Fogliano, commander of the troops of Siena, who led the attack on the castle of Montemassi. A historical coincidence that he saw, at the same time to the exploits of the knight, the Frescobaldi start their adventure in the secular world.

Apparently the wine is excellent too..
