The Castello Romitorio 2017 Brunello di Montalcino comes from an estate that is quickly becoming a leader in a special niche of the Montalcino market. The wine is modern and soft, showing lots of contained ripeness and creaminess, yet it successfully embraces the fundamentals of the appellation and Sangiovese, thanks to its bright acidity and finely tuned structure. Few wines reach this level of precision, especially in a challenging vintage such as this.

The 2017 Romitoro Toscana is very easy to like from the get-go, showing lifted dried florals,
dusty earth, peppery herbs and spice before giving way to notes of plum, blackberry, licorice
and crushed stone. On the palate, soft textures flood the senses, verging almost on creamy, yet
kept in check by zesty acids, as tart black fruits cascade across the senses, leaving a coating of
minerals and the slightest hint of tannin. The finish is long and vibrant, with tantalizing acids
making the mouth water, in a savory yet juicy expression that's already showing beautifully.
