Description

One bottle each of Chateau Branaire Ducru 2005, Chateau Talbot 2005 and Chateau Lagrange 2005.

Bid for Wine suggests offering a selection of similar wines together and saving postage, so here goes……….. a fantastic trio of St Juliens from a very fine vintage.

Stored in temperature controlled cellar since purchase from merchant.
As can be seen from the photos, each bottle has wine level into the neck, and label condition excellent.

I have not tried any of my bottles of these wines yet. I’m selling some of my bottles of each and continuing to hoard, admire and anticipate the rest!

I will post these on 19 or 20.12.16 so you will receive them before Christmas.

CHATEAU BRAINAIRE DUCRU 2005

Robert Parker 93

Floral nuances combined with lots of mulberry, raspberry and sweet blackcurrant fruit are followed by a medium to full-bodied, beautifully pure, textured, complex wine with soft tannin. It should drink well relatively early on (2-3 years) and last 15 or more.| eRobertParker.com.June, 2015

Wine Spectator 92

Very floral, showing blueberry, licorice and mineral on the nose. Full and very silky, with beautifully polished tannins. Long and caressing. This is always very well done and good value for the quality. Best after 2010. James Suckling,Wine Spectator 2008.

CHATEAU TALBOT 2005

Robert Parker 89

The 2005 Talbot is dense ruby/purple, with moderately intense notes of forest floor, underbrush, and black and red currant fruit. It is slightly herbal, medium-bodied, not terribly complex, but has good sweet fruit, and a decent finish. This wine should drink well for another 15 years. | eRobertParker.com.June, 2015

Wine Spectator 92

Sweet tobacco, berry and currant aromas follow through to a full body, with soft, silky tannins and a fresh, racy aftertaste of currant and mineral. The texture of the tannins is very beautiful. Best after 2016. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2008

CHATEAU LAGRANGE 2005

Neal Martin, RobertParker.com, February 2015 Score: 94

The Château Lagrange 2005 has an intense bouquet with cedar and graphite infusing the black fruit, nicely controlled and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, well-judged acidity and a slightly reserved but delineated finish: dried herbs, cedar and a dash of white pepper sprinkled over the black fruit. This excellent Lagrange has to be one of the most consistently satisfying wines from the appellation. Another year, another satisfying Lagrange. Drink 2019 – 2045

Wine Spectator 93

Currant, mineral, plum and light toasty oak follow through to a full body, with ultrasilky tannins and a long, caressing finish. This is thoroughly beautiful. Superbalanced and very pretty. Best after 2011. 24,165 cases made. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2008
