Description

From the 1983 vintage, since when the actual chateau has been converted into a luxurious hotel and an eaterie of the first order. With Michel Rolland as the consulting winemaker, this 19 hectare property one of the largest in St Emilion (planted 70% merlot, 30% cabernet) produces excellent St Emilion. Up to around 1895 part of Ch Figeac itself when the vineyard was purchased by a Monsieur Bouchard, brewer of beer from Picardy.
He subsequently built two identical chateaux, one in brick in Picardy to be with his wife, the other here at Lamarzelle in stone to be with his mistress.
Identical because when he got out of bed he wanted everything to be the same around him and not to confuse bedrooms... Beer up north, fine wine down south. La classe!

Now in its 27th year, this fine bottle awaits its fate possibly as it has now reached maturity and is eager to find an amateur of "vieux Bordeaux".
